7-Day Plant Based

Could you go vegan for 7 days?

The vegan community is growing at amazing rates recently. However, there are still those who prefer to eat a meat based diet, and warn that what’s going is just a fad or trend.

What do you guys think? Do you think this new vegan boom is just a trend or could it be the beginning of something more. Perhaps, a world with greater substance.

I won’t be able to tell you whether it’s a trend or not, but I challenge you to have an experience.

Go vegan for one week. Everyone who is convinced that there is nothing to this way of life should be open enough to challenge their own opinions and try to go vegan for at least 7 days.

What’s the worst that could happen?

  • You risk losing weight
  • Lower your risk of diabetes
  • Lower your risk of heart disease
  • You increase the consumption of certain nutrients

I admit it’s sometimes scary to make a decision that could profoundly disrupt your worldview all in one week, but isn’t that what we live for?

Lay down the burdens that convince you that you’re not brave enough to experience a new life and embrace all the new possibilities that are in your grasp by embarking on this new journey.

Or just try it for a week, feel better, and enjoy the break from your regular routine. Either way you would be doing yourself a service, and wow! Look at that! You’re already doing me a service by taking the time to read this.

What do you say we take a shot of ginger and cheers to all this good karma we’ve just built πŸ˜‰

Thanks for reading!!!

    1. Nice! Well I guess I posted this at the right time 😊 I wish you strength on your adventure together and I hope it goes well ✌️

    1. No need to rush into it just beginning to incorporate into your lifestyle and diet is a HUGE step in the process! Everyone has their own pace and I wish you and your family good luck and good health!

  1. I started doing plant based about 5 months ago and haven’t stopped! It’s actually really easy. I’m not full vegan, and occasionally I do eat fish but other than that it’s a raw diet for me and my boyfriend. I’ve seen such a significant change in my body. Everyone should definitely give it a go! 😊

    1. Appreciate you sharing that! It’s cool to know there are so many unique experiences when it comes to a path towards health and I’m glad you found your way! Thanks again 😊

  2. Our eldest eats many vegan things, and we’ve talked about doing Meatless Monday types of things. I might just talk to her about the 7 day challenge, and give it a go! πŸ™‚

    1. Glad to hear it! Meatless Mondays sounds like a terrific idea too! Please tell me about your experience I would love to hear how it goes 😊

  3. Hey I’m always up for trying new challenges. Surely gonna take this one. Infact I will get my best friend to do it with me and then we could blog about it!! Check out my blog tooo
    And her blog is fitnessmaniac11
(Both of us are new bloggers haha)

      1. Oh okay that’s great! Well you both can feel free to hit that follow button and subscribe to my page for future updates! Thanks alot 😊

  4. I Am scared of the idea of try it but I will think about maybe changing one meal of my day to vegan and see what happens . I would love if you wrote a blog about like the kind of food and what to eat and what not to and all that stuff . Thank you 😊

    1. I think that’s an outstanding idea! I will definitely consider writing a blog about different foods to try and what foods to stay away from on a vegan diet! Thanks for the idea 😊

    1. You would be surprised to know that it is more common than you may think to feel that way. I wouldn’t be surprised if most individuals who are vegan or plant based once felt exactly how you do but I can tell you that I’ve been there. Maybe start with one plant based replacement meal a week and try to work your way to 2 a week and so on. Patience is key in this process. Check out my post on “Baby Steps” https://risfitblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/17/i-cant-believe-youre-vegan-part-1-baby-steps/

Hope it can help you and I hope you feel free to contact me if there is anything else I can do to help 😊πŸ’ͺ

  5. The only majorly huge health thing to keep in mind when switching from an omnivorous diet to an herbivorous diet is that you need to get a B12 supplement. The best (and tastiest) way I’ve found is to use nutritional yeast, or β€œnooch” from Bob’s Red Mill or Bragg. It’s delicious and you can add it to just about anything. Be careful about what brand of nooch you get, though. Some aren’t fortified with the B12.

    1. There are definitely things to consider when making the change to any diet! Thanks for your input 😊 my next post goes over things to eat on a vegan diet stay tuned for that!

  6. I really like your approach here to encouraging others to try a plants based diet. I try something similar with my friends and family – try one day a week, gradually add a day, take stock of meals and dishes you eat already that are vegan, try making one new vegan recipe a week, etc. Thanks for your positive message. And thanks for checking out my blog, Mostly Vegan.

  7. I loved this post… I just finished my first 7 days on a plant based diet… but I was vegetarian for 8 months…
It is a very hard thing to do, not physically giving up animal based products… but on a mental level. Our word is based on consuming animal products… so it’s hard to give up something that you have been doing your whole life….
I love this post and how you don’t word it In a way that makes people that eat meat seem bad. I honestly believe that those vegans who make others feel bad will never convert a person to our team… so thank you so much for posting in a wonderful open way… I will be following and reading your blog!

    1. Wow thank you! I agree I believe everything is a process and no one wants to be forced or rushed through anything. We all do what’s right for us when we’re ready, so all I want to do is help people feel strong and confident about the choices they make. I’m really happy you enjoyed the post. Happy vegan living!!!
