7-Day Yoga Challenge

Home » Fitness » 7-Day Yoga Challenge

If you suffer from chronic pain, lack of energy, or you’re just hoping to improve your ability to perform day to day activities, maybe it’s time to roll out your yoga mat!

Yoga involves the practice of a series of physical, mental, and spiritual exercises.

If you’re like most people (or maybe just like me 😂) you may have seen a lot of super flexible girls on the internet performing what looks like impossible poses, and have decided yoga just isn’t for you. However, I’m here to tell you that just because you aren’t able to do the things they can do doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t benefit from doing yoga. There are so many different levels of yoga and it’s all about practicing at your own pace.

As a result, I’d like to share something personal with you. Last week I decided to embark on a 7-Day Yoga Challenge. It was AWESOME!!!

Now that the week is over I would like to share with you some of the benefits I personally experienced throughout the week!

🔹Increased flexibility

🔹Reduced joint pain in my knees and ankles

🔹Less recovery time

🔹Boost of energy

🔹Better sleep

Aside from those benefits it was an exhilarating experience. I practiced yoga with a group, on my own, and with a partner. Every one of those options had benefits all in it’s own.

🔹Practicing on my own allowed for more mental clarity and gave me time to focus on my individual goals.

🔹Working with my lovely partner Kristen allowed us to build a stronger connection with each other, all while having a ton of fun in the process.

🔹Lastly, practicing with a class full of Yogi apprentices of all ages on a mission to empower ourselves was very uplifting. I felt this method was the easiest to push myself because of all the great energy that surrounded me!

All in all, I really think you should give yoga a try. Who knows what you may discover about yourself or how much fun you might have!

  1. I love yoga and went to my hot yoga studio this past week after an absence of many months. The community I feel with the people in that room needs no words. The work my body does clears my mind. It’s a complete and safe space for me. I think a 7-day challenge would be an excellent way to push my practice to a new level. Thank you for the post!

    1. The way you describe your experience is on point! Love to see people enjoy their practice like I do. 😊 Hope you find the time and strength to embark on the 7 day challenge. Good luck!

  2. I’ve only tried yoga once. I did really enjoy it BUT it can be so expensive! It’s quite a big financial commitment when I know I’ll look like a failure compared to the ‘good’ yogis!

Having said that, I think there might be some free classes at my work, so I am going to give it a try.

    1. There are some gyms that offer free classes depending on where you live and there are a vast amount of online teachers on YouTube that can introduce you to “The Way of the Yogi” 😉 if there are free classes where you work I would definitely try that out too!

      1. I’m going to! Now I just have to remember to bring comfy clothes on the right day!!

  3. In January I managed to do a five to ten minute yoga workout most mornings but then I fell out of the habit. I keep meaning to get back into it because you’re right, it does leave you feeling better overall.

    1. Yeah even 5 to 10 minutes can give you some relief so I definitely encourage you to get back on it if you can. The long term benefits are hard to match! You can do this!

  4. I love yoga, but much like with meditation, it is the first thing that falls off the plate when it gets full. This is especially true when there’s not much time for fitness in my life period and I feel like I need to sweat a lot to maximize my time, which is not the best mentality, I know. Thank you for reminding me how beneficial it is! I’m sure I could squeeze in a few sun salutations in the morning, at least, and it would make a world of difference. Do you have any advice for someone willing to do 10-15 minutes of yoga every other day just for upkeep?

    1. Sun salutations are great for the body! You have to remember that a good yoga practice can help you sweat, tone the body, increase your flexibility, and release toxins. It really is an effective and time efficient exercise that works on the imbalances in your body and can make you feel stronger in your other day to day activities which may help to free up some extra time or energy in the long term. If you could work up to spending 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before you go to sleep practicing every other day you will see a huge difference. all the while maintaining

    2. All the while maintaining* the weekly recommended time for physical activity for healthy individuals! Good luck if there is anything else I can do to help please let me know. I am always here!

  5. Amazing post! Especially love the benefits you have found from doing your own practice! Speaks to an article I recently wrote about self love and spending time with one’s self. Keep up the great work 🙂

  7. Kiddos for completing the challenge! Glad it helped you out with your joint pain symptoms. When I realized yoga helped with my own, I turn to the mat instead of popping pain killers. I love it! ☺️
