Nowadays a lot of people are concerned with external results and physical changes in their body to determine the worthiness of a specific exercise or nutrition program. While those things are nice to notice a regular practicioner understands that “It ain’t all physical.” There are many other benefits that coincide with adopting a new routine towards health.

Exercise promotes social interaction 

Gyms, studios, parks, etc., are all examples of places that you may go to exercise and also where you can meet alot of people. It’s tough to be exposed to the amount of opportunities you’ll find in these places by sitting on your couch. 

Exercise has also been shown to improve self-confidence which helps you capitalize on those opportunities and meet new friends! 

Exercise promotes cardiovascular health 

Exercising can help increase energy levels and build stronger heart and lungs. Okay this one may be a little more physical, but hey it’s what inside that really counts right?! Yes of course! Having a stronger heart and lungs can make you feel more energized throughout the day and living in this new fast paced world, that is certainly a priority for everyone. 

Exercise reduces stress 

Had a long day at work? Ever heard of the runner’s high? In 2008, German researchers successfully used brain imaging to show increased endorphin release in different areas of the brain as a result of prolonged physical activity. Personal experiences from many people, including myself, would confirm this very phenomenon. 


As you can see, when it comes to exercise “It Ain’t All Physical” I hope you aren’t as lax with exercise as I am with my grammar/use of slang and you really take the time to incorporate exercise into your daily routine.   1. Excellent post! I totally agree – there are so many more benefits than what the eye can see. I am especially thankful for the stress reducing aspects of exercise. It really helps me unwind and clear my head. Super important in our fast paced world ❤

  2. Hi, thanks for following 😊 I definitely get caught up in the external. I’ve been getting back into shape after preggy (took me a while, little monkey is 19 months now!) And I’ve lost 8 kg of the 20kg I want to lose so I feel fab. But I do look a myself going COME ON FAT- JUST GO! When really, I know lots of good stuff us happening on the inside too.

    1. Congrats on the little one first of all! That’s completely normal, I think it happens to all of us to a certain extent but it’s good to be reminded of some of the other benefits from time to time.
