Ever had a bowl of Oatmeal? There are many studies that suggest it’s a great option to choose if you are trying to lose weight. Most of us have probably tried it at least once in their lifetime. However, have you ever considered making it a regular meal in your diet? Here’s why you should…
Dietary fiber helps to make you feel full which may reduce your chances of overeating. Not only is oatmeal a good source of dietary fiber, but it is most commonly mixed with other fiber-rich foods such as berries that help both in taste and satisfaction.
Low Sugar Option
If you can avoid choosing instant oats and instead opt for plain oats with no flavoring, you can avoid a lot of added sugars. This allows you to obtain the benefit of eating oatmeal as a low sugar option. Although, you may be tempted to add sugar after it is done, you can try adding bananas to sweeten your oats instead. (I like to also add a tbsp of apple cider vinegar to help increase the benefits!)
Other Health Benefits
Oatmeal is already an awesome weight loss choice due to it’s fiber content and lack of sugar but they’re also other benefits! Oats are low in saturated fats and cholesterol. Saturated fats have been linked with raising levels of bad fats in your body while limiting the good ones. Oatmeal helps to reverse this process by reducing your cholesterol levels. This is thought to be due to the high level of soluble fiber in oatmeal that helps rid the cholesterol in your body through your waste.
